Two Nigerian stars were on parade for the Gers’ in their narrow 1-0 victory over the Hibees on Saturday, with Leon Balogun earning praise for his committed showing throughout the clash
Rangers recorded their 12th league win in a row with the slimmest of victory over Hibernian on Boxing Day, a game in which Balogun made his 11th league appearance of the campaign.
The 32-year-old centre-back, who helped Steven Gerrard’s men keep their 16th clean sheet in 20 games, nearly got his first goal for Rangers in the 18th minute, but his effort was cleared off the line by the visitors’ defence.
Balogun has been a mainstay of a defence that has conceded just five goals, the Gers’ best returns after 20 league games in history.
And fans have not stopped showering praises on the former Brighton Hove & Albion man on Twitter.

Steven Gerrard has led Rangers to establish a 16-point gap on champions Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership, and a first league triumph in ten years is looking increasingly likely.
The Ibrox giants next clash with St. Mirren on December 30 as the Gers are certain to end the year at the league summit.
