Chidera Ejuke has made a surprising move from Dutch club Heerenveen to join Russian Premier League side, CSKA Moscow.
The 22-year-old joined the Red-Blues on a four-year deal worth 12 million euros. Ejuke was one of the best players in the Dutch top-flight last season. It was earlier reported that he has been excused from Heerenveen’s pre-season camp to speak with the Russian club.
It has now been made official, and he could make his debut for the club in the clash against FK Akhmat on Sunday.
The former Gombe United winger was Heereneveen’s best player, scoring ten times and registering six assists in 29 games for the Dutch club.
He only joined De Superfriezen last season from Valerenga for two million euros. However, he leaves after a superb season.
Ejuke will wear the number 11 jersey at Moscow, and he follows in the footsteps of Chidi Odia and Ahmed Musa, who are the two Nigerians to have previously featured for the Russian side.
