The Nigerian was one of the best players in the Dutch top-flight last season, and that has aroused interest from several clubs in Europe
Super Eagles hopeful, Chidera Ejuke, is expected to leave Heerenveen this summer after the Dutch club revealed the Nigerian has been given the permission to speak with a new club.
The club is not known yet, but Russia looks to be the likely destination with CSKA Moscow leading the race for his services.
Ejuke was due to link up with the Heerenveen squad for their preseason training, but he has now been excused from the travelling group.
A statement on the club’s official Twitter page read: sc Heerenveen has given Chidera Ejuke permission to negotiate with a new club. The attacker, therefore, does not travel with the selection to the training camp in De Lutte.

The 22-year-old only joined De Superfriezen last summer from Valerenga for two million euros. However, it’s not a surprise he’s leaving after just a season at Abe Lenstra Stadium.
Ejuke was Heerenveen’s best player in the 2019/2020 Eredivisie season that was curtailed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The former Gombe United star scored 10 times and provided six assists in 29 games for Heerenveen last season.
