A bid has been accepted from an unnamed Belgian club, and one of Nigeria’s in-demand youngsters could soon be on his way out of Queens Park Rangers, confirms the club manager
QPR boss Mark Warburton has revealed that Bright Osayi-Samuel was allowed to miss last weekend’s Championship match against Milwall because he’s close to moving to Belgium.
While Ebere Eze has been the standout star for Rangers this campaign, Osayi-Samuel has also chipped in with several brilliant performances to cement his place in the starting eleven.
The 22-year-old winger scored five goals and created eight assists in 36 games for the R’s – his best goal contribution since becoming a professional – to emerge as the darling of several suitors.
Osayi-Samuel has, however, been on the radars of Club Brugge for a while, with Rangers reportedly rejecting a bid for the young forward from the Belgian Jupiler League champions back in May.
It appears a deal that satisfies all the parties involved have finally been put together with manager Warburton confirming that negotiations have progressed smoothly.
“There’s very strong interest from a Belgian club,” Warburton said as per West London Sports.
“Bright was training with us yesterday to start today. But talks are now at an advanced stage, and it was a case of acting in everyone’s interests.
“No paperwork has been finalised, but talks are certainly at an advanced stage.”
Brugge already boast Nigerian duo of David Okereke and Emmanuel Dennis, but the latter may soon be on his way out of the club amidst several transfer links.
