The United striker missed the chance to play in the final 2016 after Watford lost to Crystal Palace in the semi-finals, but he’s eager to ensure that does not repeat itself on Sunday

Odion Ighalo is ready to help Manchester United cause in their FA Cup semi-final clash against Chelsea if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer gives him the nod. Ighalo has not really had enough playing time the premier league since he joined Manchester United on loan from Shanghai Shenhua in January.

However, he has found more success in the FA Cup having scored three times in two games, including the opener in the quarter-final against Norwich.

United face Chelsea in the semi-final on Sunday, and it’s not the first time Ighalo will be playing in this stage of the oldest cup competition in the world.

The 31-year-old was on the losing side with Watford four years ago, but he’s hoping luck shines on him this time around, and he’s ready to give his all if he gets the chance to play.

“It was a difficult one to take against Crystal Palace, we lost 2-1 at Wembley. If we’d have won, we’d have played United in the final,” he told MUTV per United’s website

“Unfortunately, we lost. It was a bitter one to take, but this is an opportunity again in an FA Cup semi-final to make it right and go forward to the final. If I’m called to play, I’m going to give all I can to help the team win the game.

Ighalo also added reaching the final this time will be one of the greatest things in his life because he’ll be doing it with the club he supported as a boy.

“To get to the final would be great for me in my life and my career. I missed out in 2016, and I have the opportunity to now get to the final with the club I’ve supported all my life. It would make my dreams perfect. It will be tough, but we have what it takes.
