The Nigerian forward has earned plaudits for his excellent campaign from different quarters, the latest coming from a former Blues star
Ivorian forward Salomon Kalou has lauded the attributes of young Lille striker Victor Osimhen, hailing the youngster as a ‘model attacker’.
Osimhen has been incredible over the past two seasons smashing in 38 goals for both Royal Charleroi and Lille.
In his maiden campaign in France, the 21-year-old striker netted 18 times in all competitions for the Great Danes to claim the club’s Player of the Year award.
His 13 league goals were also enough to see him picked as the top striker in Ligue 1’s Team of the Season.
Kalou, who scored 60 goals in 254 matches for Chelsea before going on to net 34 times in 80 games for Lille, has been impressed by the Nigerian forward.
“There is the revelation (of the season), Victor Osimhen,” Kalou said in an interview as per Brila FM.
“He is very powerful, very fast, and in addition, he is skillful at the head and in front of the goal.
“He is a model attacker. He impresses me a lot.”
Osimhen’s fine form has seen him attract interests from some of Europe’s top clubs, with Napoli reportedly leading the chase for his signature.
