Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi has revealed that Leicester City will aim to finish high in the fast-approaching 2019-2010 Premier League season.
Ndidi, who was part of Nigeria’s Super Eagles team that won the bronze medal at the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, played a key role in ensuring that the Foxes finished 9th last season.
The former Nathans Boys wasn’t part of Leicester’s pre-season fixture due to his AFCON engagement but is still expected to force his way to the starting line up.
“The new season brings great expectations and I want to believe that Leicester City will take further steps above what we achieved last season.
“Not being part of the preseason games makes me feel bad but then, I am happy to be part of the team now.
Ndidi is expected to feature in the team’s opening Premier League fixture against Wolves on Sunday.
Recall that last season, Ndidi managed to score two goals in 40 appearances in all competitions for Leicester City.
He joined the Premier League side from Gent in a deal worth £17 million.
Meanwhile, Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers is confident that Super Eagles’ midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi will be available for selection when the Foxes trade tackles with Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League opener at the King Power Stadium on August 11.
