FC Barcelona interested in signing Luciano Vietto from Atletico Madrid |
FC Barcelona are interested in signing Atletico Madrid striker Luciano Vietto this summer according to the player’s agent Jorge Czysterpiller who claims that about 15 clubs are after his client.
According to Barcelona-based newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Czysterpiller confirmed on Italian web Lalaziosiamononoi.it that about 15 clubs are in the race to sign Vietto from Atletico Madrid and FC Barcelona were among clubs he mentioned.
Luciano Vietto joined Atletico Madrid last summer from Villarreal but has found it hard to settle in Diego Simeone’s defensive team. The player scored just one league goal in the entire 2015/2016 and there is a slight hint that he would want to leave the Vicente Calderon, something so many clubs would want to take advantage of.
“There are about fifteen clubs interested in him: Barcelona, Valencia, Sevilla, Villarreal, Milan, Inter, Roma, Lazio … I have spoken with Lazio and is a great club but the competition is very high,” Luciano Vietto’s agent Jorge Czysterpiller confirmed.
According to Mundo Deportivo, there have been a meeting between Czysterpiller and FC Barcelona technical secretary Robert Fernandez about the possibility of the 22-year old Argentine joining the Catalan club this summer.
Luciano Vietto himself recently stated in an interview that he would love to play alongside Lionel Messi but was coy on a possible transfer to Barça.
“Of course I’d like to play with Messi, who wouldn’t… But I don’t know anything about the interest of FC Barcelona in me, only what I read in the media and on social networks. I’ll make a decision after my holidays,” Vietto said.
Barça are clearly interested in signing a forward this summer to complement the ever-present Messi-Suarez-Neymar Trident. Vietto is an option for the Catalans and would be a good signing if pulled.
