Crystal palace have been reported to be interested in Fanendo Adi
According to Yahoo Sports, Crystal Palace has expressed interest in signing Portland Timber’s Nigerian striker Fanendo Adi. The report further suggests that they have obtained the information from unnamed “league sources.”
Ever since joining the Timbers from Danish giants F.C. Copenhagen in 2014, Adi has enjoyed himself a successful MLS career. The large 6-foot-4 striker has been a constant threat for his Portland side, scoring more than 30 goals within 70 matches for the 2015 league champs.
Adi has enjoyed a successful 2016 as well. The Nigerian striker recently was called up to the country’s senior national team in March, which helped his stock within football.
In addition, Adi continues to shine in the 2016 MLS season. In the season’s first eight games, the 25-year-old has scored six goals, making him tied for second among the MLS’s top scorers.
Crystal Palace has been adamant on signing a new striker and the Nigerian veteran looks to be the next target on their radar. The report from Yahoo further suggests that Palace isn’t the only club after Adi. It is believed that Ligue 1 side St. Etienne is interested in acquiring the Timbers’ striker.
The Portland Timbers won’t be too keen on selling their star frontman, but if there is an outrageous bid for the Nigerian, MLS will no doubt accept the money.
