Mikel Says No To Schalke,Wants To Remain At Chelsea

According to tidings reaching us at SoccerNet Nigeria John Obi Mikel has is said to have rejected the prospect of reuniting with ex Chelsea coach Roberto Di Matteo at Schalke 04, after pledging to remain with the London club at least until next summer.
Mikel who is still trying to settle for a place in Chelsea’s starting line-up , has assured that he will be staying put at Stamford Bridge.
The Super Eagles star has admitted that he would have severed ties with the Londoners in the January transfer window if his circumstances had not improved.
”Mikel is remaining in Chelsea until June, he has started playing. Before he was not happy, now he is playing and happy.
”Inter Milan and Schalke 04 had approached him, but he is not moving,” a source disclosed.
In his ninth season in England, Mikel made his 250th start for Chelsea in their 2-0 away win over Stoke City on December 22.
The 27-year-old is under contract to Chelsea until the end of the 2016-2017 season.
