The Nigerian defender had a splendid campaign last season, and he is set to complete a transfer to the Bundesliga
Bundesliga club Borussia Monchengladbach are interested in signing Nigerian defender Jordan Torunarigha from Belgian club Gent, Soccernet reports.
The 25-year-old defender had a good campaign with Gent last season, making 45 appearances for the club in all competitions.
Torunarigha joined the club from Bundesliga club Hertha Berlin as he failed to impress. However, his displays for Gent last season have attracted interest from abroad.
According to Plettigoal, the Germany-born centre-back is now a target for Borussia Monchengladbach, who are looking to add some quality to their defence with the looming departure of Swiss defender Nico Elvedi.
The former German champions have already opened talks with Gent, and Torunarigha is expected to come at a decent price. Borussia Monchengladbach have already tabled a €4million bid, but Gent have not replied yet.
The Belgian side may be tempted to let him go, as Torunarigha’s contract will expire at the end of next season.
Torunarigha was born to Nigerian parents in Germany, and he played for the German youth sides at youth level. However, he has changed allegiance to Nigeria. As such, he can play for the Super Eagles.
