Chukwueze played the game of his life against Real Madrid and he was very close to breaking the legendary Lionel Messi’s record at the Bernabeu
Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze needed one dribble to match former Barcelona maestro Lionel Messi’s record of eight dribbles against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu Soccernet.ng reports.
Chukwueze played one of the best games of his career at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday night. The Nigeria striker scored two beautiful goals for the Yellow Submarine to help them to a 3-2 win over Los Blancos on their home turf.
Asides from his goal, the 23-year-old attacker was unplayable on the night. He was the biggest attacking threat that Villarreal had on the night, and Nacho Fernandez would probably have had nightmares after Chukwueze left him for dead in the build-up to his first goal.
According to Opta stats, Chukwueze completed seven dribbles against Real Madrid, and that makes him the first opposition player to complete 7+ dribbles at the Bernabeu, since Messi did it in April 2017.
“On matchday 28, Samuel Chukwueze became the first player to complete 7 dribbles in a LaLiga against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu (7 out of 8) since Lionel Messi in April 2017 (7 out of 11).

Despite his almost-perfect performance against Los Blancos, Chukwueze still has a lot to prove. His form tends to come in patches, and his consistency has continually been under scrutiny.
Hopefully, his show against Real Madrid will be the turning point in his career and he can start delivering the goods consistently.
