Alex Iwobi’s efforts for the Toffees in their fight against relegation have drawn plaudits from football fans
Everton manager, Sean Dyche, has downplayed Alex Iwobi’s departure from Goodison Park Stadium.
According to recent rumours, the Nigerian international is no longer content with his current club, and the Turkish outfit Fenerbahçe is considering an out-of-window transfer move for the star.
The former Burnley boss, on the other hand, has dispelled the report, claiming that the 26-year-old is content with Everton.
The Super Eagles attacker, whose contract on Merseyside is in its last 18 months, has been essential in the Toffees’ fight to avoid the relegation zone.
Per the previous reports, the Blues are reportedly pressing ahead with a new deal to lengthen his time at the club, following the recent agreement with Jordan Pickford.
A Turkish media outlet, however, recently reported that the Nigerian star is “unhappy” and “wants to leave” the team amid transfer rumours.
When questioned about Iwobi’s future at Everton, the 51-year-old manager addressed this and refuted the rumour.
“Well, I’ve seen him today, and he seems to be quite happy at the moment… it is unlikely, I would suggest.” The Kettering native said, as quoted on Twitter by journalist Joe Thomas.
The Nigerian international has appeared in practically all of Everton’s Premier League contests so far this season, and from midfield, he has contributed with one goal and six assists in the English Premier League.
