Zesco United currently sits twelfth on the Super League table, and they are looking to add some quality to their squad so that they can climb up the table
Zambian professional football club, Zesco United, want to sign former Nigeria youth internationals Wasiu Jimoh and Denis Nya.
Zesco United finished second in the Super League last season, six points behind eventual winners Red Arrows.
However, this season has been a struggle for them, as they sit twelfth in the Zambian top flight- an unfamiliar territory.
As a result, the club let go of Numba Mumamba in November and employed George Lwandamina.
The club is also looking to recruit quality players. According to reports from Zambian football, Denis Nya and Wasiu Jimoh are top targets.
Jimoh has been a force since he arrived at Kwara United in September. The 26-year-old attacker scored three goals in their CAF Confederations Cup qualifiers. Unfortunately, his efforts could not spur his team to qualification.
Nonetheless, his performance has drawn interest from the Zambian giants. Also, Nya has been a steady rock in Akwa United’s back line.
The former Nigeria under-17 center-back is one of the targets for Zesco United, and the 26-year-old’s addition could add stealth to their defense.
Nya was part of the Golden Eaglets team that won the World Cup in 2013. However, he did not play any games in that tournament. Jimoh played for Nigeria at the Under-20 level.
