Amadou Onana has lauded the Everton midfield pairing that included Nigerian attacker Alex Iwobi, who has excelled under new manager Frank Lampard.
The Super Eagles’ Alex Iwobi and Idrissa Gana Gueye have received accolades from Belgian midfielder Amadou Onana for their outstanding performance.
Since moving to England from Lille, the 21-year-old has reportedly been pleased by the midfield duo.
The footballer, who has dual citizenship with Belgium and Senegal, signed to Everton from Lille last summer for an estimated £33 million.
The former Hamburger SV player said that playing alongside the two players, including the Nigerian international, makes playing pretty simple for him after 14 domestic league games.
The Super Eagles’ star, Iwobi, has progressed from previous seasons after transferring from Arsenal to Goodison Park.
The Nigerian has a total of four goals and four assists during the last three seasons with the Merseysiders.

But in the 15 starts for the English manager since Frank Lampard’s hiring in January, the Nigerian international has made a total of 5 assists and scored 1 goal so far this season.
But it is true to say that the former Chelsea manager, with the arrivals of Onana and Gueye and the repositioning of Iwobi to the centre, has significantly improved Everton’s midfield since his appointment.
Alex Iwobi's resurgence under Frank Lampard has been nothing short of superb. 2 assists today vs Palace. That new role in the Everton midfield suits him so much.

Onana praises the Everton midfielders, saying that playing alongside them has made things quite easy for him.
Onana said in a conversation with SkySports that: “In terms of the midfield three [alongside Idrissa Gana Gueye and Alex Iwobi], I feel it worked. I feel quite comfortable playing with Gana and Alex as they’re amazing players and they make it quite easy for me.”
Onana, who cannot wait to be back, will work to lift his squad, who are only one point clear of Nottingham Forest and beyond the relegation zone.
However, the Belgian was seen practicing for their Boxing Day fixture against Wolverhampton FC.
