The Super Eagles star was on loan at Leicester last season but wasn’t signed permanently
Leicester City manager, Brendan Rodgers has revealed his desire to have Ademola Lookman permanently after the winger impressed on loan.
Lookman last week completed a €15m move to Serie A side, Atalanta after waiting for the Foxes to make a move.
The move never came until he eventually traded the Bundesliga for the Serie A.
Rodgers rued Leicester’s lack of activities this summer but said they’ll keep building.
“I would have loved to have signed Ademola [Lookman], who was great here last season and got over 10 goals and assists but we weren’t able to do that,” Rodgers was quoted to have said by LeicestershireLive.
“Unfortunately that means we then have to look at the squad and the team and try to adapt, and then put them out to be as best organised as they can be.”
He expressed his frustration at the failure of the club to get a replacement with Harvey Barnes ruled out for several weeks.
“At this moment in time, I would say no. That was the frustration for us, that with Barnesy out, we didn’t have a direct replacement.”
Leicester haven’t had much activity this season but are yet to lose any important player to another club despite interests from other clubs in their players.
