The former U-17 star dubbed as the next Kanu when he broke out some years ago has joined a Belgian club
Alhassan Ibrahim has teamed up with KVA Beerschot in the Jupiler League ahead of the new season.
Ibrahim, a former Golden Eaglets star signed for the Belgian club from Portugues Liga side, CD Nacional.
The 25-year old midfielder signed a two-year contract with the club until 2024. The club announced the deal via their official website.
Nicknamed Muazam by his peers during his days in Nigeria, the star midfielder was described by the Belgian club as a player they didn’t have on their profile.
“Ibrahim is a central midfielder with a lot of physical presence,” says technical manager Sander Van Praet. “In addition, he is very comfortable with the ball. He has a profile in midfield that we didn’t have before.”
“I do like to feel the ball,” says Alhassan. “But I’m also very aggressive in the pressing and in following my husband. So I can certainly agree with our coach’s game system. For me this is another good new step in my career. In previous seasons I played in Portugal in both the first and second division. My goal is to play at the highest level with Beerschot again as soon as possible.”
