Former Kwara United coach, John Obuh has charged the League Management Committee to concentrate more on the improvement of the Nigeria Professional Football League to an appreciable standard worth celebrating before the end of the 2017/2018 season.
The former Golden Eaglets coach who led the team to a silver medal at the 2011 FIFA U-17 World Cup that was hosted in Nigeria, told soccernet.com.ng that with better pitches and improved organization in the league, the quality of football in the country will improve.
“One thing we must understand when it comes to improving the level of football in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) is not just inviting television stations like Supersports to televise our league but also we need to provide a conducive pitch that will allow for free-flowing football,” Obuh told Soccernet.com.ng.
“Sometimes I feel for my players when they play on pitches that are not up to standard in our league because how do you expect them to express their true talents. Most of the facilities are nothing to write home about and I think these are things that the League Management Committee (LMC) should pay attention to so as to give our football a facelift.”
