Super Eagles media officer, Toyin Ibitoye has revealed that the team would travel on Thursday or Friday for the crucial 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Johannesburg.
Nigeria currently leads the group with nine points, one point ahead of second-placed South Africa.
Having failed to qualify for 2015 and 2017 Africa Cup of Nations respectively, the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner, will be hoping to dust away the threat being posed by Bafana Bafana, knowing fully that the ‘Madiba boys’ defeated Nigeria 2-0 in Uyo.
Ibitoye during an interview with a Lagos based radio station that was monitored by Soccernet.ng stated that the team would depart for South Africa on Thursday.
“The NFF have ensured that every logistics needed by the players is available. Players and officials will use Monday to settle down before proper training starts on Tuesday. We have few days to train in Asaba because the team will depart for South Africa by Thursday or Friday,” Ibitoye said.
