The Nigerian players were in a festive mood as they joined other players to send Christmas wishes to their fans and loved ones
Amidst the dreams, thoughts or anxieties that accompany the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations, Nigerian players still took out time to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ on Christmas day.
This year, most Super Eagles players celebrated Christmas with their families, even though some of them do not have the luxury of a winter break.
Leicester City star Wilfred Ndidi took to Instagram to share pictures of him and his family. The 25-year-old posed with his wife and daughter in front of a Christmas tree with the caption “Merry Christmas to you and yours”
Elsewhere, Alex Iwobi donning a Santa Claus cap, shared pictures of him and his family. He posed alongside his parents and his sister. The Everton midfielder also shared photos of his pet dogs.
Meanwhile, with a potential return to the Premier League in the offing, Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo celebrated the birth of Jesus with his family.
He shared pictures of him and his three children. He also posted a video of his family singing a Christmas song.
“Merry Christmas everyone 🎄❤️🙏🏾,” he wrote.
Daniel Akpeyi was not left out as he also shared lovely photos of him and his spouse with their two kids. The Kaizer Chiefs shot-stopper captioned it “Merry Christmas and Happy New Year in advance from the Akpeyi’s to you all ❤️❤️”
Also, Torino fullback Ola Aina took to Instagram to post a funny video of him dancing to a Ghanaian song. The footage looked hilarious, as whilst wearing a black robe, Aina had a red cap and black shades on.
“Merry Christmas yall, have an amazing day with your loved ones🎄🎄❤️ Had to reload this one” Aina said
Super Eagles Captain Ahmed Musa also joined in the celebration despite being a Muslim. He shared a picture of his wife and children on Instagram.
It’s not what’s under the Christmas tree that matter, it’s who is around it. Wishing you abundance, hope, peace and a festive holiday season.” Musa said
