| Andre Gomes in action for Barca |
After experiencing bad seasons for the Catalan club, Portuguese midfielder Andre Gomes is set to be on his way out of Camp Nou after various reports from both the English and Spanish media suggest that English club West Ham United are highly interested in the services of the former Valencia player and might have submitted a bid already.
According to reliable source Catalonia Radio, Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde does not have Gomes in his plans for the 2018/2019 season and believes his exit would do more good for all parties involved. The Portuguese midfielder joined Barcelona two years ago from Valencia but has failed to catch the eye of any of his coaches and struggled to get a place in the team.
Barcelona have been scouting a couple of top-class midfielders recently to bolster their squad in the centre and the latest name on the list is Bayern Munich Chilean midfielder, Arturo Vidal. Gomes picked up an injury in Barcelona’s first preseason game but it won’t hinder him from leaving and West Ham is his most likely destination.
