One of former Super Eagles goalkeepers, Vincent Enyeama has hit another milestone today as he celebrates another magnificent birthday today.
Vincent Enyeama was one of the best stoppers the nation ever had starting from his time at Enyimba up to his last days at the national team where he captained the Super Eagles.
He was a member of the Super Eagles from 2003 to 2015 and served as its captain from 2013 until his retirement from international football.
Enyeama is Nigeria’s most-capped player of all-time with 101. After three successive third-place finishes, the former Lille custodian clinched the Africa Cup of Nations title in 2013. He has also recorded tremendous success in terms of trophies.
Recall that the birthday boy abruptly quit international football two years ago after under former Super Eagles Coach Sunday Oliseh.
At club level, the Nigerian has also enjoyed some measure of success. He won the Israeli league and cup twice apiece as well as the country’s best player of the season once.
He was also instrumental in helping Enyimba claim the coveted Africa Champions League twice, 2003 and 2004 respectively. He will be fondly remembered for the beautiful save he made at the 2002 FIFA World Cup in Japan/Korea against England’s David Beckham.
