Super Eagles forward, Kelechi Iheanacho couldn’t inspire the Citizens to a victory as they managed a 1-1 draw against Everton at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday in a Premier League match.
Iheanacho, who hit the headlines for his goal in Nigeria’s 2-1 win over Zambia last week, started ahead of talismanic goal scorer, Sergio Aguero who had a slight injury scare prior to the encounter.
The former Golden Eaglets star had a tough time as he was kept quite for most of the game by the duo of Ashley Williams and Phil Jagielka in the Everton defence.
However, the visiting team took the lead in the 64th minute through Romelu Lukaku after City’s Kevin de Bruyne had fluffed a penalty in the 43rd minute.
The Citizens continuous attack later paid off as Nolito netted the equalizing goal some few minutes after Sergio Aguero failed to convert another penalty opportunity.
