Super Falcons Coach Florence Omagbemi has expressed delight over the form of her team at the ongoing 2016 African Women’s Championship in Cameroon.
Nigeria played out a 1-1 draw against Ghana on Wednesday after they hammered Mali 6-0 in their opening match of the tournament.
Asisat Oshoala’s goal was cancelled out by Elizabeth Addo’s first half penalty inside the Stade Municipal de Limbe but Omagbemi rued the missed penalty call by the referee.
The former captain of the team still believes that the Falcons can finish as group leaders with a convincing win against Kenya in their last group game on Saturday.
“The game was great and both teams played well. Ghana gave us a good match and it was an impressive game,” said Omagbemi.
“….we played against a good team and it was a good match by both teams. A draw (1-1) is not a bad result. We played well and were not expecting to draw. I’m looking forward to the game with Kenya and get a good result. We just want to play convincingly against Kenya and hopefully top the group.”
