Manchester United are on the verge of completing the signing of Portuguese midfielder, Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon.
Having agreed on a deal with Fernandes on Wednesday, the Red Devils appear to be putting final touches to his documents in a bid to complete his signing.
Recall that last season, he signed a five-year deal with Sporting Lisbon with a release clause of £31m; a fee Man United is ready to meet.
If the deal is completed, Fernandes would be the third player team manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be signing after completing the deal of Daniel James from Swansea and Aaron Wan Bissaka from Crystal Palace.
Sporting President Frederico Varandas says there have been talks with Fernandes about his future and is hopeful any deal for the Portugal midfielder will be the most expensive sale in the club’s history. Fernandes scored 32 goals in 50 appearances last season.
Meanwhile, United are trying to tie David De Gea down to a new contract. De Gea is currently in the last year of his deal at Old Trafford but the Red Devils are hoping he agrees to a contract extension worth £350,000 a week.
