Super Eagles forward, Moses Simon was on top form on Sunday as he scored twice for Gent in their 2-1 win over Club Brugge in the Belgian First Division A.
It was the visitors that drew the first blood as they opened the scoring after only eight minutes of action, but Gent were back in the mix in the 25th minute when Simon scored after another Nigerian, Samuel Kalu had sent the ball to the far post.
Just on the stroke of half time, Simon shot his team in front when he calmly converted the penalty kick award to his side; thus completing his brace for the evening.
It was not all good for the Nigerian cast for Gent on Sunday as the hosts played a man short for the last 40 minutes after William Troost-Ekong was sent off for his second bookable offense.
Of the four Nigerians that were on parade on the night, only Anderson Esiti lasted the entire duration of the game as Kalu and Simon were substituted in the 56th and 75th minute respectively.
It is understood that representatives from Manchester United, Chelsea as well as Stoke City were among the 19,999 spectators at the GHELAMCO-arena on Sunday.
