Real Madrid bounced back to winning ways on Wednesday night after last weekend’s Clasico disappointment and they did so in style as the crushed Deportivo La Coruna 6-2 away from home.
Los Blancos were three points behind going into Wednesday’s game following the big 7-1win recorded by Barcelona over Osasuna earlier in the day.
Real responded well with their own big win also as they got off to a blistering start in which Alvaro Morata opened scoring in the first minute.
There was no long wait for a second goal on the night as James Rodriguez double Real’s tally in the 14th minute.
Deportivo attempted to ruffle feathers as they halved their deficit in the 35th minute but Madrid’s two-goal cushion was soon restored by Vasquez as the visitors took a 3-1 lead into half time.
The second half was more like the first as Real found the back of the net thrice again, this time through Cassmeiro and Isco with Rodriguez adding one more goal to complete his brace for the night, Joselu scored Deportivo’s only goal in the second half.
With this development, Real are level on points with Barcelona but they have a slight edge with as game still at hand.
