Tanzania coach Miguel Gamondi has named a 24-man squad for the AFCON 2027 qualifiers against the Super Eagles, with the first game in Uyo on Friday 13 November.
Most of the selections come from the Tanzania Premier League, according to Complete Sports. Yanga FC and Azam FC supply five players each, the most of any club, while Kagera Sugar and Singida Black Stars have one player apiece.
The foreign-based names include Novatus Miroshi of Goztepe in Turkey, Cyprian Kachewele of Kryvbas in Ukraine and Bernard Kamongo of FC Dallas in the United States.
Two games in four days
The first game is at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo. The return is four days later in Dar es Salaam.
Tanzania have made a poor start to Group L, with a 2-0 defeat to Guinea-Bissau and a 1-1 draw with Madagascar. Nigeria have three points from two games, after a 2-1 win over Madagascar in Uyo and a 3-0 defeat in Bissau, as Soccernet set out in its look at the March decider.
Analysis: Nigeria's problem is at the back, not up front
Tanzania have scored once in two qualifiers, so Nigeria's attack is not the question these two games ask. The sharper test is defensive: the Super Eagles have gone five games without a clean sheet.
A squad drawn mostly from the home league may also know each other's games well, which can help a side that has struggled for goals. If Nigeria keep a clean sheet in Uyo, it would answer the biggest doubt before the trip to Dar es Salaam.
Nigeria need both wins to keep the group's only live place in their own hands, and the squad Gamondi has picked will not make that easy to take for granted.
