Plymouth Argyle head coach Tom Cleverley has provided an update on the injury suffered by Super Eagles striker Owen Oseni ahead of their crucial League One clash against Leyton Orient on Saturday, Soccernet.ng reports.
Oseni has been an important player for Plymouth since joining the club from St Mirren in 2025 and enjoyed a remarkable 2025-26 campaign.
His impressive form also earned him a maiden call-up to the Super Eagles squad for the 2026 Unity Cup, where he made his Nigeria debut in the semi-final victory over Zimbabwe.
However, the striker has struggled for regular playing time so far this season after dealing with injury problems.

Oseni has made just four appearances across all competitions this season and has missed several matches as he continues to deal with fitness issues.
Owen Oseni: Super Eagles striker set to spend more time on sidelines
Plymouth will visit Leyton Orient in their ninth league game of the season on Saturday, with Cleverley’s side looking to climb higher than their current fourth position in the League One table.
Ahead of the game, Cleverley revealed that Oseni has aggravated his ankle injury and will now spend more time on the sidelines.

The 22-year-old suffered the injury during an Under-21 clash against Crystal Palace last month, and the Plymouth boss confirmed that the striker has been advised to take extra time to recover because of his previous ankle problems.
“Because it’s an ankle he’s injured in the past, the specialist has advised we take a little bit more time to make sure that ankle heals and is as stable as it can be”, Cleverly said, via Tribal Football.
“I’m disappointed for him because his season’s not got going.
“He missed a large part of pre-season, and then he’s trying to chase a little bit of fitness. Then, in a sort of nothing action of the game, chasing a ball into the channel, the defender falls on him and his ankle sprains.
“It was an important game that he played in against Palace Under-21s, and unfortunately he didn’t come out the other end of it fit.”

Oseni is now expected to remain out of action until at least November as he continues his recovery.
The Super Eagles striker will be hoping to return to full fitness before the November international break and get his season back on track after a frustrating start to the campaign.
