Raphael Onyedika produced an impressive performance as Eintracht Frankfurt opened their 2026-27 competitive campaign with an 11-0 win over SC St. Tönis in the first round of the DFB-Pokal on Friday, Soccernet.ng reports.
The Super Eagles midfielder earned a 9.1 rating on SofaScore, according to the match data supplied for the game. His score came as Frankfurt controlled the match from the start and produced the biggest win in the club's DFB-Pokal history.
Only three players – Jonathan Burkardt, Can Uzun and Robin Koch – of the 32 who took part in the encounter had a better rating than Onyedika. Burkardt, who registered three goals and two assists, and Uzun, with two goals and three assists, bagged a perfect 10.0 rating. Defender Koch added a goal from his centreback role to secure his 9.3 rating.

Onyedika helped Frankfurt control the game
The 25-year-old started in midfield as coach Adi Hütter used him to protect the defence and help Frankfurt move the ball forward. That role became important as the Bundesliga side attacked in waves against the fifth-tier team.
Frankfurt scored twice from corners in the opening 10 minutes. Jonathan Burkardt headed in the first goal in the fourth minute before Robin Koch made it 2-0 in the 10th. Ayoube Amaimouni added a third in the 17th minute before Burkardt scored again in the 29th.
Can Uzun then scored twice in two minutes, in the 34th and 36th minutes. Burkardt completed his hat trick in the 41st minute, while Elias Baum, Younes Ebnoutalib and Mario Götze added three more before half-time. Frankfurt went into the break 10-0 up, the highest half-time score in DFB-Pokal history.

Onyedika's value was not about scoring goals. As a defensive midfielder, he helped Frankfurt keep the pressure on and gave the attacking players freedom to push forward. His performance also came after a difficult pre-season ending, when Frankfurt lost 7-0 to Brentford on August 15. Onyedika played the full 90 minutes in that match.
The Nigerian joined Frankfurt from Club Brugge this month on a contract until 2031. He arrived with 24 Champions League appearances and four seasons of regular football in Belgium, giving Hütter an experienced option in central midfield.
Frankfurt added one more goal through Farès Chaïbi in the 87th minute. The 11-0 result sent the club into the DFB-Pokal second round and gave Onyedika a strong start to life in Germany.
