Manchester United have submitted an enquiry about Victor Osimhen as they consider another move for a striker before the summer transfer window closes, Soccernet.ng reports.
FootballFanCast reports that United have contacted Galatasaray to ask about the possibility of signing the Nigeria international. The enquiry does not mean that a bid has been made or that a transfer is close.
The move comes with United preparing for the start of the 2026-27 Premier League season. Michael Carrick's side will open their campaign away to Hull City on Saturday, 22 August, at 12:30 WAT.
Osimhen, 27, remains one of the most wanted centre-forwards in Europe after another strong season in Istanbul. He scored 22 goals and provided eight assists in 33 appearances for Galatasaray last season.

Manchester United test the Osimhen option
United's enquiry gives the club a chance to understand what a deal would cost before deciding whether to take the next step.
Osimhen, who already opened his season account with two goals against Çorum FK, is not a simple signing. Galatasaray paid Napoli €75m for him in July 2025 and gave him a four-year contract. The agreement includes a guaranteed net salary of €15m per season, plus a €1m loyalty bonus and €5m per season for image rights.
That contract runs until 2029. Galatasaray president Dursun Ozbek also said earlier in March that the deal did not contain a release clause. Any interested club therefore has to negotiate directly with the Turkish champions.
The financial challenge is clear. Reports put Galatasaray's asking price at about €150m, while the Turkish club has also rejected a reported €130m offer from Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal.

Manchester United have already spent money on their squad this summer. They have added Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos, while Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko form part of Carrick's attacking options. United finished third in the Premier League last season and qualified for the Champions League.
Yet the striker position has become an issue ahead of the opening match.
Sesko has been dealing with an injury and did not feature in United's final pre-season schedule. Mbeumo is expected to carry part of the central attacking burden if Sesko is unavailable, while Marcus Rashford's future is still uncertain after his loan spells at Aston Villa and Barcelona.

United's final pre-season match also ended badly. They lost 4-2 to Ruben Amorim's AC Milan, leaving Carrick with little time to settle his attacking plans before the trip to Hull.
Osimhen would give United a different type of striker. The Nigerian combines pace, strength and movement behind defenders with a strong record in front of goal. His goals and assists helped Galatasaray win the Turkish league last season, while he also added seven goals in the Champions League as the club reached the knockout rounds for the first time in over a decade.
It is no surprise therefore that Manchester United are checking whether one of Europe's proven goalscorers can be brought to Old Trafford before the new Premier League and Champions League campaigns gather pace.
