Trabzonspor have taken a firm stance on the future of Super Eagles forward Paul Onuachu, amid transfer interest from other clubs this summer, Soccernet.ng reports.
The Nigerian forward has been the subject of transfer speculation since the end of the 2025-26 season, with clubs from the Saudi Pro League keen on signing him just a year after he joined the Turkish Cup winners.
Onuachu enjoyed an outstanding individual campaign after joining Trabzonspor last summer for a second stint following his departure from Southampton. He had previously spent the 2023–24 season on loan at the club, where he made a strong impression.

He went on to score 22 goals in the Turkish Super Lig, winning the Golden Boot award jointly with Eldor Shomurodov of Istanbul Basaksehir. His tally included an impressive run of nine consecutive scoring matches earlier in the year, while one of his goals was also named the Goal of the Season, capping off a remarkable individual performance for the Nigerian striker.
Trabzonspor reject double offer for Onuachu
The Super Eagles forward’s impressive season has sparked strong transfer interest from Saudi Arabia, particularly from Al Ahli, who are looking to add him to their squad as they aim to strengthen their team for a title challenge in the Saudi Pro League next season.
According to Buchi Laba on X, Trabzonspor have made it clear that they do not intend to sell Paul Onuachu this summer.

“Trabzonspor have made it very clear that they do not want to sell Paul,” he said.
“They have rejected two offers from Saudi clubs for him, but the Saudis still feel they can get a deal done.”
Where does this leave the Super Eagles forward?
With Trabzonspor maintaining a firm stance on keeping Onuachu, it is increasingly likely that the Nigerian forward will remain at the club beyond this summer.
Trabzonspor are aiming to compete for the league title and end Galatasaray’s dominance, and Onuachu’s importance last season shows he is a key figure to lead that charge.
However, the club is also exploring alternative options in case the Nigerian striker eventually departs, especially if he receives a lucrative offer from the Middle East and pushes for a move.
“Trabzonspor also enquired about another Nigerian striker and a Brazilian striker. They are making plans in case Paul Onuachu leaves.”

Onuachu’s contract runs until 2028, giving Trabzonspor a strong advantage in negotiations. The club is under no pressure to sell, particularly given their current stance.
For now, Onuachu remains a Trabzonspor player, with the club firmly insisting he is not for sale. If interested clubs fail in their pursuit, they may have to look elsewhere, while the Nigerian forward continues his journey at the club, hoping to lead them into another successful season.
