Transfers: Sevilla set N24 billion price for Super Eagles forward

Spanish club Sevilla have made a major decision regarding the future of Super Eagles striker Akor Adams amid growing interest from Serie A side Venezia, soccernet.ng/wp/ reports.

Adams has become the subject of intense transfer speculation ahead of the new season, with Venezia stepping up their pursuit of the Nigerian forward as they look to strengthen their squad following their promotion back to Serie A.

French giants Marseille are also monitoring the striker's situation. However, while they were previously pushing to sign him, their interest has cooled in recent weeks.

The 25-year-old only joined Sevilla in January 2025 but recovered from a slow start to establish himself as an important member of the squad. He went on to score 10 goals in all competitions last season, playing a key role in helping the Spanish club avoid relegation.

Despite his impressive performances, Sevilla are prepared to cash in on Adams as they seek to ease their financial problems. The club have now taken a significant step towards determining his future.

Sevilla set Akor Adams asking price amid Venezia interest

According to Mundo Deportivo, Sevilla have placed a valuation of around €15 million (approximately N24 billion) on the Nigerian striker ahead of the summer transfer window.

Earlier reports revealed the La Liga side could demand between €25 million and €30 million, but they have now lowered their asking price and are prepared to sanction a sale if a club meets their €15 million valuation.

Venezia have already seen an opening bid worth €10 million rejected by Sevilla. However, the Italian club remain determined to sign Adams after reportedly reaching an agreement on personal terms with the Nigerian forward and are now expected to return with an improved offer.

Sevilla are under pressure to generate funds as they continue to deal with financial difficulties. Selling Adams would allow the club to make a healthy profit, having signed him for just €5.5 million in January 2025 and the proceeds from his sale would also help them strengthen other areas of their squad during the transfer window.

For Venezia, Adams is viewed as the ideal striker to lead their attack as they prepare for life back in Serie A. The Nigerian forward’s goalscoring ability is seen as a key asset in their bid to avoid an immediate return to the second division.

If the transfer is completed for €15 million, Adams would become the most expensive signing in Venezia's history, surpassing the €7 million the club paid to sign Armel Bella-Kotchap from Hellas Verona earlier in the transfer window.

If an agreement is eventually reached, Adams would take the next step in his career, where he will hope to build on the impressive form he showed during his spell at Sevilla.
