Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi has arrived at Nigeria’s training camp in Antalya, Turkey, ahead of the two international friendly games against Iran and Jordan, Soccernet.ng reports.
The arrival of the Besiktas vice-captain boosts the total number of players in the Super Eagles camp to 22 as preparations gather pace for the upcoming matches.
Ndidi's arrival was one of the final pieces the coaching staff had been waiting for, and he quickly joined his teammates in training. Known for his calm presence and ability to organise play from midfield, Ndidi is expected to play a key role both on and off the pitch as the squad builds towards the games.

There is already a lively atmosphere in camp, with a blend of experienced internationals and younger players eager to impress. Attackers like Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze and Moses Simon have been involved in early sessions, alongside midfielders such as Alex Iwobi and Frank Onyeka.

In defence and goal, players including Semi Ajayi, Zaidu Sanusi, Francis Uzoho and Maduka Okoye have also been working through drills as the team sharpens up.
Training sessions have focused on improving team shape, pressing, and understanding between players. With two matches coming up in quick succession, the coaching crew are keen to build rhythm early and give opportunities to both regular starters and newer faces in the squad.
Nigeria will take on Iran on Friday before facing Jordan a few days later, with both games set to test the team’s readiness and depth.

Super Eagles: Bassey injury forces defensive rethink
While Ndidi’s arrival has boosted the squad, there has also been a setback with the withdrawal of defender Calvin Bassey.
The Fulham centre-back has pulled out of the squad due to a back injury, ruling him out of both friendly matches. Bassey had originally been included in the 23-man list and was expected to play an important role in defence.
His absence leaves a gap at the back, and the coaching staff must now look at other options within or outside the group. Players already in camp will have the chance to step up and show they can fill that role, especially with competition for places still open.

Coach Eric Chelle could also call up a late replacement for Bassey with Trabzonspor defender Chibuike Nwaiwu one of Nigeria's highly-rated stars in Turkey.
The focus for Bassey, though, will now be on recovery. The former Ajax star is an important player for both club and country, and taking time to heal properly will be key as Fulham push to finish the season strongly and possibly secure a place in European competition.
Despite this setback, preparations in camp have continued without disruption. The players have shown strong commitment in training, with high energy levels and a clear focus on the matches ahead.
With most of the squad now present and working together, attention turns fully to the upcoming fixtures, where the Super Eagles will look to fine-tune their tactics and build momentum.
