Former South African Premiership champions Kaizer Chiefs are interested in signing Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, Soccernet.ng reports.
Nwabali has been the subject of numerous transfer rumors since terminating his contract with Chippa United last month.
The 29-year-old shot-stopper had been with the Chilli Boys since 2022, and his consistent performances earned him a call-up to the Super Eagles squad, where he rose to global recognition.

As a result, he was linked to several top clubs both on the continent and abroad. However, none of those speculations eventually materialized.
Then, in a surprising move, he decided to terminate his contract at Chippa United, leaving him without a club.
At the time of his departure, it was widely believed he likely had an offer waiting elsewhere. While no club has made a formal move so far, it appears he may finally get a breakthrough.
Stanley Nwabali to Kaizer Chiefs?

According to reports, Stanley Nwabali is firmly on the radar of Kaizer Chiefs. The South African giants are long-term admirers of the Nigerian international, but because they already had a reliable number one in Brandon Petersen, they previously decided against pursuing a deal.
However, the South African goalkeeper recently underwent surgery that will keep him sidelined for several weeks, prompting the club to explore other options.
Nwabali emerges as a ready-made solution because his status as a free agent allows him to join any club immediately.
Furthermore, he understands the South African football landscape perfectly, having spent four years at Chippa United, where he eventually captained the team.
To finalize a deal, the club would only need to negotiate personal terms with the player.

The season is currently approaching its midway point, and Chiefs—with one game in hand—trail leaders Orlando Pirates by 11 points, following a 3-0 defeat inflicted by the Pirates last weekend.
Although they have capable goalkeepers like Bruce Bvuma and Fiacre Ntwari on their roster, signing the first-choice goalkeeper of one of the continent's best national teams would provide a significant boost to the fans and offer extra defensive solidity to end the campaign on a solid note.
