NPFL champions Remo Stars finally ended a difficult run of results after defeating Katsina United 2-0 at the Remo Stars Stadium on Sunday, Soccernet.ng reports.
It was the Sky Blue Stars’ first home match in Ikenne since their victory over Ikorodu City on matchday 20, and they rewarded their supporters with a much-needed win.
Following Kwara United’s victory against Wikki Tourists on Saturday, Remo Stars started the day bottom of the table and under pressure to secure maximum points.

The hosts controlled possession early but struggled to create clear chances in the first half. Their breakthrough finally arrived after the restart.
Haruna Hadi became the hero of the afternoon, scoring twice within three minutes to settle nerves inside the stadium. The midfielder opened the scoring in the 60th minute after connecting with a pass from Albert Korvah. Moments later, Victor Mbaoma squared the ball across goal for Hadi to tap home his second.

Despite missing further chances, Remo Stars comfortably saw out the match. The victory, their first in eight games and only their second of 2026, lifted them to 18th place. They remain three points away from safety with ten matches left to play and now face a difficult away trip to Enugu against league leaders Rangers International.
NPFL: Rangers soar as Rivers United slip
Rangers International climbed to the top of the NPFL table after a comfortable 2-0 victory over Nasarawa United in Enugu.
Goals from Godwin Obaje and Chidiebere Nwobodo secured the win for the Flying Antelopes. Rangers' rise to first place was confirmed after Rivers United suffered a 1-0 defeat away to Bayelsa United in Yenagoa, a result that also lifted Bayelsa United out of the relegation zone.
