Tottenham Hotspur handed academy midfielder Callum Olusesi a brief introduction to the Premier League in their 1-1 draw with Liverpool FC on Sunday, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 19-year-old midfielder entered the match late in the second half and played roughly 15 minutes as Tottenham Hotspur F.C. battled to a hard-fought result at Anfield.
His appearance marked another milestone for Olusesi, who is widely regarded as one of the club’s brightest academy prospects.

How Callum Olusesi moved to Spurs first team
Born in Lambeth, London, Olusesi joined Tottenham’s academy as a youngster and steadily climbed through the youth ranks.
During the 2022-23 campaign, he featured regularly for Spurs’ Under-18 side while still a schoolboy before signing scholarship terms the following year.
His development continued rapidly, and he soon became a regular presence in Tottenham’s youth teams.

The teenager later signed his first professional contract with the North London club before agreeing to a longer-term extension that will keep him at Spurs until 2029.
Senior breakthrough in Europe
Olusesi’s first taste of senior football came in January 2025 when he made his professional debut in the UEFA Europa League.
He came on as a substitute in Tottenham’s 1-0 away victory against TSG Hoffenheim, which made him one of the latest academy graduates trusted to step up to the first team.
Since then, the midfielder has continued to feature mainly for Tottenham’s Under-21 side while waiting for more opportunities at senior level.

Eligible for Nigeria and England
Despite being born in England, Olusesi is of Nigerian heritage and remains eligible to represent the Nigeria national football team at senior international level.
So far, he has represented England national under-17 football team and other youth sides, and he his among the dual-eligible talents being monitored by both countries.
His Nigerian roots have already drawn attention among Super Eagles supporters, many of whom are eager to see him eventually represent Nigeria.
