Nigerian teenage midfielder David Oguejiofor has taken a major leap onto the world stage after completing a move from Simoiben Football Academy to Saudi Pro League heavyweights Al Nassr, Soccernet.ng reports.
The transfer places the highly rated youngster in one of football’s most star-studded dressing rooms.
Oguejiofor will share the Al Nassr locker room with Portuguese icon Cristiano Ronaldo and Senegal great Sadio Mane, two of the biggest names driving Saudi Arabia’s football revolution.

Mane, fresh from lifting the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title with Senegal in January, was among the first to welcome the Nigerian prospect to Riyadh.
Al Nassr secure the signing as part of their continued push to blend global superstars with emerging talent, while Simoiben FC, owned by Super Eagles winger Moses Simon and his wife Ibukun, celebrated another academy graduate breaking into elite football pathways.
The Kaduna-based academy has already built a reputation for developing top prospects, having previously facilitated Benjamin Frederick’s move to Brentford in 2024. Frederick has since grown into a regular Super Eagles figure, missing the 2025 AFCON only through injury.

Nigeria's Oguejiofor heads to ambitious Al-Nassr FC
Simoiben FC announced Oguejiofor’s transfer with pride across their social platforms, hailing the midfielder’s rapid rise.
“We are proud to announce that we have successfully completed the transfer of our player, David Oguejiofor to Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr FC. This is a huge opportunity to show the world his talent and we are certain he'll do that greatly. All the best, David.”

The academy added:
“One of Our Own!! From Simoiben Football Academy to Al-Nassr. Remember the name, David Oguejiofor.”
Oguejiofor now joins an Al Nassr side locked in a tight Saudi Pro League title race, sitting second with 46 points from 19 matches, just one behind leaders Al Hilal.
With ten league titles to their name, but none since 2018-19, the Riyadh giants are keen to end their championship drought, and the Nigerian midfielder is expected to be integrated quickly into the first-team squad.

His arrival also writes a small piece of club history. Oguejiofor becomes only the third Nigerian to represent Al Nassr, following former Nigeria international forwards Henry Makinwa and Ahmed Musa. Former Super Eagles captain Musa even played a key role in the club’s last title triumph.
