Super Eagles star Tolu Arokodare was on target for Wolves, but his goal in the 3-1 loss against Chelsea was not enough to secure a point for the home side…

Former Middlesbrough coach Rob Edwards hailed Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare after he found the net in Wolverhampton Wanderers' 3–1 defeat to Chelsea on Saturday, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Nigerian striker pulled one back for Wolves in the 54th minute, finishing sharply inside the box after Chelsea failed to clear a cross.

While Chelsea dominated the first half with Cole Palmer’s hat-trick, Arokodare’s goal gave Wolves a brief lift.

Wolves coach lauded Arokodare’s efforts after the game, noting the team’s ongoing work to integrate new players following a busy transfer window.

Rob Edwards on Arokodare’s goal vs Chelsea

Speaking after the match, Edwards said via the club website:

“We're trying to change things, and we're trying to progress in the hardest league in the world. The window’s been quite busy with outs. There's a couple of fresh lads that have come in, who I thought were excellent. Like all of us, we're trying to progress and move forward and get better. Great for him. Really, really good. He did some really good things today and worked hard for the team.”

Tolu Arokodare’s performance vs Chelsea

Arokodare was Wolves’ standout performer, constantly challenging Chelsea’s central defenders and creating chances through intelligent movement.

Aside from his goal, he impressed with his hold-up play, winning aerial duels, and drawing fouls that briefly disrupted Chelsea’s game plan.

Arokodare's determination provided Wolves with a rare attacking outlet against a dominant Chelsea side, and his showing will likely reinforce interest from top clubs abroad.
