Wolverhampton Wanderers produced one of the most dramatic comebacks of the Premier League season as teenager Tom Edozie scored a stoppage-time equaliser to earn a 2-2 draw against league leaders Arsenal at Molineux, Soccernet.ng reports.

The result was remarkable not only for the late drama but also for its historical significance.

Wolves began the day bottom of the table yet became the first side in Premier League history to avoid defeat against the team starting the day top after trailing by two goals.

Arsenal appeared in complete control early on. Bukayo Saka ended a long goal drought by heading the visitors into the lead after just five minutes. The Gunners dominated possession and looked comfortable throughout the first half.

Their advantage doubled shortly after the break when defender Piero Hincapié scored his first goal for the club, seemingly putting the contest beyond reach.

But Wolves refused to surrender. Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare had earlier entered the match as a substitute after an injury to Angel Gomes, adding energy to the home side’s attack as belief slowly returned inside Molineux.

The turning point arrived in the 61st minute when Hugo Bueno curled a superb strike into the top corner, igniting the crowd and shifting momentum firmly toward Wolves.

Arsenal collapse opens door in title race

As pressure mounted late on, Arsenal retreated deeper instead of maintaining their attacking rhythm. That caution proved costly.

Nineteen-year-old Tom Edozie, younger brother of Southampton winger Sam Edozie, was handed his Premier League debut after several matches as an unused substitute.

The youngster seized his moment in dramatic fashion. Deep into stoppage time, confusion between defender Gabriel Magalhães and goalkeeper David Raya allowed Edozie’s effort to squeeze past Riccardo Calafiori and over the line.

The draw felt like a victory for Wolves while for Arsenal and manager Mikel Arteta, it was a missed opportunity that could carry major consequences.

Instead of extending their advantage at the summit, the Gunners remain only five points clear, with defending champions Manchester City holding a game in hand and a crucial meeting at the Etihad Stadium still to come.
