Blackburn Rovers defender Ryan Alebiosu has returned to the pitch, boosting Nigeria’s preparations ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations 2025 quarter-final against Algeria national football team, Soccernet.ng reports.
Soccernet.ng spotted the London-born full-back walking on the grass during the Super Eagles’ first training session in Marrakech ahead of their clash against the Fennec Foxes.
This confirms the recovery progress of the former Crewe Alexandra defender after a knee injury scare during Nigeria's clash against Uganda.
Ryan Alebiosu: Injury update and return to training
Alebiosu picked up a deep cut on his knee during Nigeria’s final group-stage match against Uganda national football team, following a collision that saw him shoved into the advertising boards by Uganda defender Aziz Kayondo.
Despite the setback, the Blackburn Rovers defender remained with the Super Eagles instead of returning to his club. Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle had earlier confirmed that Alebiosu would resume light training, with the possibility of featuring later in the tournament.
That promise has now been fulfilled, with video footage shot by Soccernet.ng showing the defender back on the training pitch in Marrakech.
