Former captain of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Sunday Oliseh, has told Thierry Henry to back off over the statements he made concerning Mohammed Salah, Soccernet.ng reports.
The Liverpool winger scored 34 goals and provided 23 assists in 52 games across all competitions for the Reds last season, but his form this season has seen him struggle to replicate such numbers.
Across board, Liverpool are out of their depth despite spending over £446m in the summer to secure the services of Jeremie Frimpong, Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike, Florian Wirtz, and Milos Kerkez.
Arne Slot's side are currently 10th in the Premier League, with six losses from 15 games, falling short of their quest to defend their league title.

Mo Salah's limited gametime
Arne Slot has been left in a dilemma, stuck with how to fix Liverpool's problem. In his search for a solution, the Dutchman opted to give Salah the short stick, benching the Egyptian for three straight games.
Even worse, Slot opted to keep the former AS Roma attacker on the bench in Liverpool's 3-3 draw against Leeds United, and a volcano erupted.
It is the first time in his Liverpool career that Salah has failed to start consecutive Premier League games, with the forward having started 53 successive matches in the top flight before last weekend's trip to the London Stadium.
“I could not believe I was sitting on the bench for 90 minutes. That's the third time. It's the first time in my career, I think,” the two-time English Premier League winner said in quotes revealed by ESPN.
“Very disappointed, done so much for this club over the years, especially last season. It seems like the club has thrown me under the bus. That's how I feel it.
“Someone wants me to get all the blame. [The] club promised me a lot in the summer. Now I'm on bench, so can say they haven't kept those promises.
“I used to have a good relationship [with Slot]. Now we don't have any relationship, and I don't know why. [It] seems like someone does not want me in the club,” Salah bemoaned.

Jamie Carragher's acerbic comments, Thierry Henry's response
Champions League winner with Liverpool in 2005, Jamie Carragher was livid with the direction Salah chose to go.
The CBS Sports Golazo pundit revealed the one-time UEFA Super Cup winner threw the club under the bus.
Carragher went further to state that Salah was a player known for his failure with Chelsea before his fortunes turned around at the Merseyside Stadium.
Arne Slot opted to leave the Egyptian out of the squad that faced Inter Milan yesterday, and Carragher took to his social media page to make it clear he wants the team to win, in Salah's absence. Liverpool defeated Inter Milan by a lone goal, thanks to a spot kick from Dominik Szoboszlai in the 88th minute.
I’m not sure I’ve wanted Liverpool to win a game more than tonight for a long time!

Henry, weighing in on Salah's position, claimed the attacker was well within his rights to air his displeasure, not just publicly.
“We're talking about a moment in time that I think he got wrong. You do not talk about your personal situation in public when your team is struggling,” the Arsenal legend said on the CBS Sports Golazo show.
“You do it in the dressing room. I've done it. I went to the dressing room and smashed everything. I went to the boss's office to complain about stuff.
“When I was at Barcelona, I travelled with the team, and I was put in the stands. I didn't talk about it, because I have to protect the team at all costs, all the time.
“I can understand the frustration. I don't understand the how and the when. That was wrong,” the 1998 FIFA World Cup winner said.

Ex-Super Eagles captain: Sunday Oliseh opines
Sunday Oliseh was teammates with Thierry Henry at Juventus during the 1999/2000 season. However, the former Super Eagles captain revealed that the comments of his ex-teammate don't capture the situation of his ‘African brother'.
“I like ‘tete', we played at Juventus together, but I think he is getting this one wrong!
“When will some people learn that it is not always about them?! Salah has been the “Main man” at Liverpool for almost a decade, like Messi at Barcelona,” Oliseh wrote on his X page.

“Henry was not brought to Barcelona to lead the team, but rather to help Messi, Eto'o, and Iniesta lead the team!
“The way Salah is loved and adored in Egypt, Henry was and is miles away loved that way in France.
“With all due respect! Salah has a right to be unhappy at his situation more than Henry had at Barcelona, “but Salah should not have gone public!!
“Abeg leave our African brotha alone.”

Whether or not the rift between Mohamed Salah and Arne Slot will be sorted out is currently unknown.
“The focus should be on that [the team's win against Inter] tonight. I can fully understand if I go into the press conference on Friday and all the questions are on Mo, but I think these players deserve for it to be about them tonight.”
“Clarence [Seedorf] said that in his opinion [Mo and I should speak], and I said that is his opinion, and I didn’t say anything about who should make the first step or whatever.
“It was his opinion, and I am happy I can clarify that so the headline tomorrow is not what I have said. It was [Seedorf's] opinion. Where I stand on that is that tonight it should be all about the players that are here,” the Liverpool boss said after his side's win against Inter Milan yesterday, in quotes revealed by Liverpool Echo.

Up next for Liverpool, they welcome Brighton & Hove Albion to Anfield on Saturday, and the fans will be hoping to see Salah reinstated into the club's starting lineup.
