Nigeria’s preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) received a timely boost on Sunday as goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali arrived at the Super Eagles’ camp in Cairo, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 2023 AFCON silver medallist became the second player to report for duty.
Nwabali’s arrival comes amid recent reports linking him with injury concerns ahead of the tournament, which makes his presence in camp particularly significant.

The Chippa United shot-stopper touched down just minutes ago, joining Francis Uzoho, who earlier opened the camp as the first player to arrive.
Nwabali arrives Super Eagles camp amid injury concerns
The Nigeria No.1 had been reported to be nursing an injury in the build-up to AFCON 2025, which has raised questions over his availability.

His arrival in camp will offer reassurance to head coach Eric Chelle and the technical crew as preparations intensify in Cairo.

Uzoho sets the tone as camp opens
Uzoho had set the early pace by arriving shortly after 2:00 am local time on Sunday morning. This further shows his commitment following a recall to the national team.
With both goalkeepers now in camp, the Super Eagles’ preparations against the Pharaohs of Egypt are picking up speed.

All members of the coaching crew and backroom staff are already on the ground at the Renaissance Hotels in Cairo, while the rest of the squad is expected to arrive in the coming days.
The Super Eagles will face Egypt in a friendly on December 16 before flying to Fès for their Group C campaign against Tanzania, Tunisia, and Uganda.
