Former Chelsea star John Obi Mikel has tipped the Super Eagles to win the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, Soccernet.ng reports.
Three-time African champions Nigeria will be looking to claim a fourth continental crown next month.
The last few months have been a difficult period for Nigeria as they are coming off a failed FIFA World Cup qualification bid. However, a Nations Cup trophy would give the fans something to be happy about.

Nigeria coach Eric Chelle revealed his 55-man provisional squad for the tournament two weeks ago.
Then, on Thursday — the deadline for all participating countries to submit their final rosters — Chelle's final 28-man list was announced.

The list features five new players who will be hoping to make their international debuts soon. However, some high-profile players like Christantus Uche, Maduka Okoye, and Tolu Arokodare were left out.
Former Super Eagles captain Mikel, who was an integral part of the team that won the AFCON in 2013, reacted to Chelle's list on social media. Replying to the squad announcement on Instagram, he wrote, “Bring it home lads.”

Can the Super Eagles Win AFCON 2025?
As usual, Nigeria is among the favourites to win the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. The team boasts some of the most brilliant individual talents on the continent.

However, the team has consistently flattered to deceive, even against seemingly easier opponents. As such, many fans do not have high expectations of the team heading into the tournament.
Nonetheless, the Super Eagles always seem to know how to step up when expectations are low. Perhaps, they can shock Africa and claim the title for the fourth time in Morocco.
