Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle released his final squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations on Wednesday, and it has been the major talking point in Nigerian football.
One of the important things to note from the squad is that there are five new invitees: Ryan Alebiosu, Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, Usman Muhammed, Salim Fago Lawal, and Tochukwu Nnadi.
None of these players have ever played for the senior national team. They will now get their shot.
The Super Eagles squad for #AFCON2025 is set.
Victor Osimhen, Wilfred Ndidi and 26 others will fly the flag in Morocco under Eric Chelle.

In this article, Soccernet.ng reveals important information about some of the lads who have been handed their maiden Super Eagles call-ups.
Ryan Alebiosu
The Blackburn Rovers man has enjoyed a remarkable year so far. He joined his Championship club from St. Mirren in the summer transfer window and has quickly grown to be an important member of the team.

Alebiosu has featured in 20 league games this season, with one goal and two assists to his name.
The 23-year-old was born in England to Nigerian parents, thus making him eligible to play for both countries. He recently switched allegiance to Nigeria.
Alebiosu is the modern-day wing-back. He is versatile, good in the final third, has pace, and possesses strong dribbling skills. With Ola Aina out, it is Alebiosu's time to shine.
Ebenezer Akinsanmiro
The Pisa man's name has been mentioned in connection with the Super Eagles a lot in recent weeks, and he has finally gotten his first call-up.

Akinsanmiro has been a consistent performer for Pisa in the middle of the park this season. His physicality and technicality have distinguished him from other young midfielders in the Serie A.
Given the way Nigeria's midfield has struggled in recent years, Akinsanmiro is definitely a breath of fresh air.
Usman Muhammed
Usman Muhammed currently plies his trade for Israeli club Ironi Tiberias. His call-up actually comes as a surprise, considering he is 31 years of age.
Muhammed started his career in the NPFL. He was one of the bright young stars, but he has not lived up to the expectations.
He can play multiple positions in the middle of the park.
Salim Fago Lawal

22-year-old Salim Fago also made the cut. He has been decent for his Croatian club NK Istra this season, contributing four goals and two assists in 16 league games.
The striker represented Nigeria at the 2023 FIFA World Cup, but this will be his first time with the Super Eagles. Salim Fago is very good with the ball at his feet and is a very good ball carrier. Nonetheless, it will be surprising if he gets minutes, due to the quality and experience of other strikers.
Tochukwu Nnadi
Tochukwu Nnadi is another star from the 2023 World Cup team. Since then, he has been growing.

After playing at a Bulgarian club, he moved to Botev Plovdiv, and now, he is at Zulte Waregem. Nnadi is originally a defensive midfielder, but he can also play as a central midfielder.
The 23-year-old midfielder is a physical and high-octane player. He is also quick and a fine tackler. He is a decent addition to the Super Eagles squad, and he will be hoping to get minutes at the 2025 AFCON.
