Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has secured the Barclays Women’s Super League (WSL) Save of the Month award for November, Soccernet.ng reports.

Nnadozie has continued to impress few months into her adventure in England after joining Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer from Paris FC, where she has been since arriving in Europe.

The 24-year-old Nigerian international received the honour for her extraordinary, acrobatic stop against Liverpool. It was a moment that kept Brighton in the contest before they battled back to secure a late 1–1 draw at the St Helens Stadium.

With Liverpool pushing for a decisive second goal, Fuka Nagano unleashed a fierce long-range strike destined for the top corner. Nnadozie reacted with elite sharpness, leaping high to tip the ball onto the crossbar in what proved to be the most impactful intervention of the match. The save kept Brighton alive before Beata Olsson’s opener was cancelled out by a late equaliser.

Her effort stood out in a competitive field that included strong nominations from Sabrina D’Angelo, Faye Kirby, and Ayaka Yamashita. It also represented a personal breakthrough after she narrowly missed out on October’s award to Arsenal’s Daphne van Domselaar.

Since arriving from Paris FC in the summer, Nnadozie has quickly adapted to life in England, emerging as one of the league’s most reliable performers.

She has already kept two clean sheets this season, with Brighton sitting seventh in the WSL table on 11 points. Her 78.7% save percentage, second only to Chelsea’s Hannah Hampton, points to her consistency despite Brighton conceding 10 goals.

Chiamaka Nnadozie: October frustration, November redemption

Nnadozie’s November recognition comes just weeks after she finished as runner-up in the October vote, losing out to van Domselaar’s superb save against Brighton themselves. In that match, the Arsenal goalkeeper reacted sharply to turn away a powerful effort from Carla Camacho after a cross from the right.

The October shortlist also featured Manchester United’s Phallon Tullis-Joyce, Everton’s Emily Ramsey, and Leicester City’s Janina Leitzig. Nnadozie earned her nomination at the time for a brilliant stop against Tottenham Hotspur. But it was not considered good enough to earn her the award.

As Brighton prepare to face London City Lionesses on 7 December, Nnadozie will aim to extend her strong form and push the Seagulls toward a higher league position.
