The Super Eagles of Nigeria are targeting a fourth continental title at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2025) in Morocco.

Nigeria has not won the trophy since 2013. Their best performance since then came during the last edition in Ivory Coast, where they finished as runners-up to the hosts.

This year, the Super Eagles are determined to go one step further and reclaim the throne.

However, their journey begins in the group stage. Nigeria has been drawn into Group C alongside Uganda, Tanzania, and former champions Tunisia. As the heavyweights of the group, the Super Eagles boast the highest-valued squad.

Group C Market Value Overview

The Super Eagles of Nigeria dominates the valuations in Group C, as their opponents hardly  have players that stand out.

Tunisia: Their most expensive player is Hannibal Mejbri, valued at €14 million according to Transfermarkt.

Tanzania: Their most valued star is Novatus Miroshi, who plays for Turkish Süper Lig club Göztepe. He is valued at €2 million.

Uganda: The Cranes do not even have a player valued at the €1 million mark. Their most valuable players are Baba Alhassan (FCSB) and Aziz Kayondo (Slovan Liberec) who are both rated €900k.

Top 5 Most Expensive Players in Group C

Nigeria has the biggest stars in Group C of AFCON 2025. And unsurprisingly, the list is dominated by players in Europe’s top leagues.

Victor Osimhen (Galatasaray) – €75 million

Ademola Lookman (Atalanta) – €40 million

Calvin Bassey (Fulham) – €28 milion

Alex Iwobi (Fulham) – €25 million

Raphael Onyedika (Club Brugge) – €20 million.

Super Eagles fans will be hoping that their star power prevails eventually, as they take on Tanzania in their first game of the tournament.
