Super Eagles and Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has cooled talks of his teammates' fallout with the NFF, instead, focusing on a place at the World Cup following their win against Gabon, Soccernet.ng reports.

The players arrived in camp on Monday, and although their first training session was scheduled for Tuesday, the Super Eagles chose to boycott training due to unpaid bonuses and allowances from the Nigerian Football Federation.

On Wednesday, the team captain, William Troost-Ekong, confirmed everything was sorted between the players and the Federation as they held their training session.

The players then did the talking on the pitch, sealing a 4-1 win over Thierry Mouyouma's Gabon, and booking themselves a clash against DR Congo on Sunday.

Akor Adams broke the deadlock for Eric Chelle's side before Chidera Ejuke scored their second in extra time. Victor Osimhen then added a double before he was replaced by Tolu Arokodare.

After the game, the former Napoli forward mentioned that the Super Eagles are ready to give their all to ensure World Cup participation next year.

“I mean, for everything that has happened, to be honest, all the players were locked in,” the 26-year-old told ESPN AFRICA.

“Whether we trained or didn't train, every player was locked in because even when we were at our club side, we spoke with ourselves all the time.

“We have a group that we speak with everyone, and we try to motivate each other when we have this kind of performance at the club level.

“So, for me, some things have to be rectified, but I have to say a big kudos to the NFF President.

“He got into the picture swiftly and got everything sorted, which is fine, and we're good.

“Now, it's done, we've won the game. The most important thing for us now is to return to our hotel and prepare for our next game to see if we can get it done.

“Of course, I think we can get it done, we have the squad to actualise this dream of going to the World Cup because everyone wants to go there.

“We have to be there because we missed out on the last one, and I think that we have the quality to do it,” the ex-LOSC Lille man concluded.

Up next for the three-time African Champions is a clash against Sebastien Desabre's DR Congo at the Stade Prince Moulay Abdallah in Rabat on Sunday.
