The Super Eagles of Nigeria have officially called off their strike and will return to training on Wednesday, ahead of their game against Gabon on Thursday, Soccernet.ng reports.

Nigeria will lock horns with Gabon in the semifinals of the CAF World Cup playoffs at the Prince Moulay Hassan Staidum on Thursday.

Some of the players started trickling into their Morocco camp since Sunday, despite the Monday resumption date that was set.

The team had their first training session on Monday, and were sussposed to also train on Tuesday. But news broke on Wednesday evening that the players boycotted training in protest of owed payments bonuses.

This issue caused a row in the Nigerian football community, with some fans criticizing the Nigeria Football Federation, while others criticized the players due to a perceived lack of commitment.

Nonetheless, it was reported that officials from the Nigeria Football Federation and the National Sports Council were in communication with the players and trying to resolve the matter.

Team captain William Troost-Ekong also confirmed that all their outstanding payments had been cleared on social media.
