Nigerian strikers Victor Osimhen and Paul Onuachu will go head-to-head tonight as Galatasaray and Trabzonspor meet in a top-of-the-table Turkish Super Lig clash at RAMS Park in Istanbul, Soccernet.ng reports.
The match has been billed as one of the most anticipated fixtures of the season, not only because of its impact on the title race, but also due to the presence of the two in-form Super Eagles forwards.
Galatasaray currently sit top of the table with 28 points, having won nine of their opening ten games.
Trabzonspor, rejuvenated under Coach Fatih, trail five points behind with 23 points, and will be eager to close the gap.
While Osimhen’s summer move from Napoli for €75 million made him the most expensive signing in Turkish football history, Onuachu has been equally impressive, leading the league’s scoring charts with seven goals and one assist in ten matches.

Bulut: Osimhen will go down in Galatasaray history
Ahead of the blockbuster fixture, former Galatasaray and Trabzonspor forward Umut Bulut shared his excitement about the match and the two Nigerian stars, describing Osimhen as “an actor who will go down in history.”
Bulut told TRT Sport as per Fanatik:
“I’m sure it’ll be a fantastic match. Galatasaray has won the championship and the league three years in a row. Trabzonspor has been on a good run since the start of the season. They’ve made a breakthrough under Coach Fatih. A great match awaits us. Anything is possible.”
On the key attacking duel, Bulut added:
“Both teams know what they’re playing. I think this will be a match where Trabzonspor will be in the championship game in the long term and will evaluate themselves. They will see what they can do at their level.
“Onuachu is a huge advantage for Trabzonspor. Osimhen is a fantastic centre-forward. He’s a player who will go down in Galatasaray’s history.”
Victor Osimhen, despite being slowed by injury this season, has three goals in seven league matches and three more in the UEFA Champions League, including crucial strikes against Liverpool and Bodo/Glimt.
Paul Onuachu, meanwhile, has been unstoppable domestically, scoring decisive goals and winning two Goals of the Month awards for Trabzonspor.
The Nigerian pair, both towering and clinical, represent the finest of African striking talent in Europe today.
Galatasaray hold the upper hand historically, with 30 wins to Trabzonspor’s 14, but with both Onuachu and Osimhen in top form, the script tonight could easily be rewritten in bold, Nigerian colours.
